Hey everyone. Welcome back to the painless flipping channel. I’m Nathan Payne and today I’m taking you on a little trip down memory lane. Back to my college days long before I dove into the world of real estate investing. Imagine a place where the vibrant energy of live music meets the comfort and enjoying your favorite cereal that was skinnies, a cereal bar music venue, I started in college, it was all about creating a space where people could come and hang out, enjoy some tunes. And of course, eat cereal because I love cereal and I wanted to provide a place where people could come and hang any cereal together.
It was my first real venture into entrepreneurship and creating community space. While scuzzy was all about serving a bowls of cereal and great music. It wasn’t exactly a gold mine. As you can imagine. You can’t make a ton of money off of selling cereal bowls at $1 apiece. But the lessons I learned there are freaking priceless running skills. He’s taught me about business about creating spaces that bring people together about community and about most importantly, following your dreams.
These experiences became the foundation of my journey into real estate investing. We’re creating spaces and communities took on a whole new meaning before we jump into all things real estate. I want to show you a piece of my past here’s an advertising we did for scuzzy is back in the day.

Can see there? It kind of startled me. Hi, I’m Nathan Payne, the founder and CEO of schism. He’s probably wondering what skills is right? Well, let me tell you, it gives us a place to be. It’s a place to go and make new friends hang out with old friends and enjoy yourself. What is there to do excuses like Well, why would I even go? That’s probably what you’ve been thinking what’s been plaguing your mind? I’ll tell you.
We have over 40 Different cereals to choose from. You can choose any milk you want to. You have a soda bar. You can customize any your sodas in case you’re feeling thirsty. We’re bringing back pi shakes, and we’re also introducing cereal shakes. So you could get a Cookie Crisp milkshake. Or a Reese’s puffs, milkshake or if you feel really froggy that day, a Lucky Charms milkshake. What a wonderful thing. We have a movie theater, so you can cuddle with someone that you care about and watch a good movie.
You have band rehearsal space and storage for your instruments. So if you play in a band, come here, practice. We also rent this space out to anyone that wants to throw their own private event or party. So come on down. Reach out to us and party on. You’re probably thinking, I don’t know, schism is the place for me.
But think again, schism is the place for everyone. We accept nerds, hipsters, jocks, bros, minorities, and friends. We’ve said everyone want everyone to come here and have a great time. You know why? Because we all must sit together at the table brotherhood and eat a bowl of cereal have a good time. You already know that scuzzy is has the best live music in Rexburg, without a doubt of the CSM.
Running schisms was an adventure, it actually didn’t make me any money really at all, but it enriched my life in ways I never expected. And it’s those unexpected journeys that truly shape us.
